About the Director
Maria Macedonio-Ritter has been painting for over twenty years. She is a New York State certified art teacher who has her Masters Degree from Stony Brook University. Mrs. Macedonio-Ritter continued her studies at The Cape Cod School of Art, Massachusetts, Escola d’Arts Plastique I Disseny in Barcelona, and extensively at School of Visual Arts, NewYork.
Maria is a full-time art teacher in the Connetquot Central School District. She is the director of The Center for Visual Arts in Blue Point, NewYork - a private fine arts school which she founded in 1998.
Maria has guest lectured at Islip Art Museum, Five Towns College, Heckscher Museum of Art, East End Arts Council, and has served on the panel for The New York State Decentralization Grant. She recently curated Patchogue Arts Council’s Walking Arts Tour, an annual exhibition that includes over forty Long Island artists and utilizes alternative art venues. Maria’s work has been reviewed in The New York Times and The Suffolk Times. Maria has exhibited her work extensively on Long Island and resides in Blue Point, NY with her husband and daughter.
