Courses offered for the Winter/Spring 2012 Session

Cartooning & Comics

Tuition - $260

Ages 8-12

Students will be taught various techniques to create cels, storyboards, and comic strips, and will also learn about overlaying with acetate. In addition, students will develop skills for copying and creating their own cartoon characters.

Drawing and Painting

Tuition - $260
15 Classes
Ages 5-10

Students will learn various drawing and painting techniques and will explore different art media each week. Themes will be used throughout the summer to reinforce prior learning.

Sculpture and Pottery

Tuition - $260
15 Classes
Ages 8-12

Students will be taught a variety of techniques to create three-dimensional artworks. Materials include different clays for pottery and hand-building, plaster, sculpture wire, and many other modeling and glyptic supplies.

Portfolio Program

Tuition - $260
15 Sessions
Ages 14-18

This program is designed for the mature middle school student as well as high school student who either simply enjoys studio arts or who is interested in developing his or her portfolio for college. Students will be introduced to a variety of techniques to be utilized when working with the visual arts. Students wil be taught acrylic, watercolor, and oil painting, as well as pencil and charcoal drawing. Classes wil focus on the student's individual growth and interest as an artist.

Adult Class

Adults

Adult students supply their own materials. They may work in any drawing or painting medium. This is a structured class for beginners. A materials list will be provided at the first class.
